Beckhoff EL1904 EtherCAT digital input terminal — 4 × 24 V DC inputs (IEC 61131-2 Type 1/3), 2 ms filter, 500 V isolation, 12 mm width. For use with BK/EK series couplers. EL1904 = std. DI; EL1904 with -xxxx safety option = safe DI per EN ISO 13849-1.

Product Overview

The Beckhoff EL1904 (Art. No. EL1904 | often quoted as EL1904-0000 meaning no special option / standard version)​ is an EtherCAT digital input terminal​ providing four electrically isolated 24 V DC inputs (sink/source — Type 1 / Type 3 per IEC 61131-2)​ for connection to the Beckhoff EtherCAT I/O system (EK1100 coupler or CX series embedded PCs with E-bus). Each input has a 2 ms (typical) debounce filter​ and the terminal draws its logic power from the E-bus (no external 24 V auxiliary needed for electronics). Signals are scanned at EtherCAT cycle time and transmitted in the process image. The EL1904 occupies 4 bits (1 byte)​ in the input process image. Width is 12 mm (standard EtherCAT terminal format). Also available as EL1904 with safety option (e.g. EL1904-0000 with -SIL or as EL1904 in TwinSAFE SC context)​ — base hardware is identical; TwinSAFE functionality is enabled via configuration and FSoE (Fail Safe over EtherCAT) when used with EL6910 or other TwinSAFE Logic Terminals.
