Product Overview

6ES7214-1AD23-0XB8​ (commonly referenced as 6ES7 214-1AD23-0XB8) is a SIMATIC S7-200 CPU 214-2 DP​ — the top-tier S7-200 CPU with integrated PROFIBUS-DP Slave interface. It provides 14 digital inputs (24 V DC sink/source), 10 relay outputs (Form A, 2 A resistive), and 2 analog inputs (0–10 V DC / 0–20 mA, 12-bit resolution). The CPU has two communication ports: Port 0 = PPI/MPI/ASCII/Modbus RTU​ and Port 1 = PROFIBUS-DP Slave (up to 12 Mbps). Program memory is 12 KB, data memory 8 KB + 2 KB retentive, with support for up to 7 expansion modules (EM series). Programming is via STEP 7-Micro/WIN (V4.x). Suitable for stand-alone machines requiring DP connectivity to S7-300/400 masters or third-party DCS.

Note: S7-200 is discontinued / phased out (Mature Product — recommends migration to S7-1200 / S7-1500 + CM 1243-5 for DP). Spare availability may be limited to remaining stock. For new designs consider CPU 1214C DC/DC/DC (6ES7214-1AG40-0XB0)​ with PROFIBUS CM 1243-5 slave module. The -0XB8 suffix denotes export version (Asia/World region); -0AA0 was the European code variant with same functionality.
