Product Description

The Pepperl+Fuchs KFD0-SD2-EX1.1045 is a single-channel, loop-powered isolated barrier designed for solenoid valve driving and digital output (DO) signals in hazardous areas. It features a current-limited output (≤45 mA) and is certified for intrinsically safe applications (ATEX, IECEx, FM, UL). This compact DIN-rail mounted module provides galvanic isolation between control and field sides and supports functional safety up to SIL 3 according to IEC 61508. Its typical applications include driving devices like solenoid valves and alarms in explosive atmospheres such as oil and gas or chemical plants.

- Acts as a switch amplifier or solenoid driver for digital output (DO) signals.
- Converts control signals from safe areas (e.g., PLCs or DCS) to drive intrinsically safe field devices (e.g., solenoid valves, alarms) in hazardous zones.
