Product Overview

6DL3100-8AC05​ (also listed as 6ES5943-8AC05​ — S5-115U CPU 943) is the central processing unit for the SIMATIC S5-115U programmable controller system. It provides 48 KB work memory (RAM, expandable with EPROM memory sub-module), two integrated serial interfaces (IF1 = PG/OP for programming/HMI at 9.6–19.2 kbps AS511; IF2 = optional PG/OP or printer/baud rate selectable), and connects to up to two S5 I/O buses​ for central and expansion racks (UR/ER with IM 305/306/308). The CPU is powered from the S5-115U rack's 24 V DC supply module (PS 942 / PS 945)​ — no separate power connection on the CPU itself. Programming is via STEP 5 (PG720/740/760 or SIMATIC Manager with S5 option package). This is a legacy / mature product —  recommends migration to SIMATIC S7-1500 / S7-1200 for new projects.
