The Yokogawa AIP601 is a passive, intrinsically safe (IS) safety barrier designed for use in hazardous areas. It provides galvanic isolation and energy limitation for a single 2-wire, 4-20mA field transmitter. Installed in the safe area, it allows standard control system equipment to safely interface with intrinsically safe field devices located in explosive atmospheres, complying with the entity concept of protection.

  3. Requires a fused, isolated power supply on the safe area side as per the control drawing

  4. Provides no signal conditioning or amplification; only energy limitation and isolation

  5. Installation and wiring must comply with relevant hazardous area standards and codes
